Top 5 PS4 Must Own Games
After watching the episode Logan decided to add a few more titles as honorable mentions and here they are:
6. Everybody’s Golf – The follow-up to the The Hotshots Golf series from the PS1-PS3 gold franchise. The best golf series in video game history has made it’s way to the PS4, but now under the Japanese title. The series has changed and evolved since its inception. The character customization has always been a core part of the series and has added so much more in terms of character development.
7. Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain – The last Metal Gear game touched by Hideo Kojima. Even without David Hayter voicing the iconic Solid Snake, the character was still great and the game was full of gameplay that felt right on par with Kojima’s best. The first open world MGS game brought an interesting change to the series. Even though MGS hasn’t been a PlayStation exclusive in a very long time, MGS feels at home on the PlayStation family of consoles.
8. Catherine Full Body – The follow-up to Catherine on the PS3 and Xbox 360. A very interesting puzzle/platformer/story centric game. A genre that hasn’t been mashed in this way before. This game is a remaster of sorts. It’s a very sexualized game that doesn’t usually make its way to US shores. The platforming and puzzle aspects have merged in such a way that draws the player in and keeps you coming back for more, but unlike classic puzzle games like Tetris, the story elements keep the player enthralled. The story and plot are based around the main character, Vincent Brooks, trying to make a decision between multiple lovers named Catherine. As of this writing the game is still a PS4 exclusive, but is due to be released on the Nintendo Switch on July 7, 2020.
9. MediEvil – A reimagining/remake of the original PS1 classic. An action/platformer where you play as a zombie knight, Sir Daniel Fortesque. in the world of Gallowmere. Some call MediEvil the origin of the souls-esque style games. It starts out lite in challenge and the difficulty ramps up as you progress and unlock new weapons and abilities. The visuals have been amped up to the next level and look just as good as a fan could want and the $29.99 new release price tag made it that much more worth it.
10. Kingdom Hearts – The Story So Far – A compilation of all the Kingdom Hearts games leading up to Kingdom Hearts III. Nine different KH games leading up to the release of KHIII within a 13 year period. Fans can now play everyone and get caught up on the story, or refreshed before play the third part. A great compilation and as of this writing it’s still a PS4 exclusive.
